Homemade facial scrub

Exfoliation helps to get rid of the dead skin cells. Instead of spending money on an expensive chemical scrub, you can make your own facial scrub right at home that your skin will love.

I try to go for natural products for my skin as much as I can. Since, facial skin is very delicate and sensitive so using products which are loaded with chemicals and some questionable ingredients is not a good idea to opt for. Here I am writing some of my experienced homemade facial scrubs which are inexpensive and easy to use.

“Don’t exfoliate your skin more than once or twice a week.”

  1. Besan (Gram flour) & Curd

Ingredients you need: Besan, Plain Curd, a pinch of Turmeric (optional)

Method: Take a bowl, add 2 tablespoons of besan (exfoliating agent) and 1 tablespoon of curd (it has a moisturizing effect) and a pinch of turmeric (it’s a lightening agent). Mix it to make a smooth paste. Now, apply it on your clean face and let it dry for 5-7 minutes. Then, damp your fingers and gently move in circular motions for 2-3 minutes. Now, wash it off and pat dry with a soft towel followed with a toner and moisturizer.

2. Besan (Gram Flour) & Orange Peel Powder

  • How to make orange peel powder: Take out the fresh orange peels and dry them completely under the Sun for about 3-4 days. When they turn crispy, grind them into powder form and store in an airtight jar.

Method: Take a bowl, add 1 teaspoon of Orange Peel Powder and 1½ teaspoon of Besan & mix it. Add water and mix thoroughly to make a smooth paste. Now, apply it on your clean face and leave it on for 5 minutes.
Then, massage gently with wet hands for a minute and was it off with water. Pat dry, followed with a toner and moisturizer.

3. Oatmeal & Honey

Apply this paste to your clean face and let it dry for 5-7 minutes, then gently scrub with wet hands. Rinse and then, moisturize.

4. Coconut Oil & Sugar

Coconut oil is good for acne prone skin because of its antibacterial & antimicrobial properties. And if I talk about Sugar, it draws moisture from the environment into the skin, also it exfoliates the dead skin cells and reveals the glowing skin underneath.
