Hair!! It’s a prized possession for every girl or woman. No doubt healthy hair makes you feel beautiful and confident. But taking care of it can be a difficult task for some especially when we talk about winter.
Since, the air gets drier in winter leaving your hair dry and frizzy, which can be easily prone to breakage and sometimes it leads to itchy and flaky scalp.
Here I am writing some useful yet easy tips which you can easily remember.
- STAY HYDRATED, STAY HEALTHY
I know everyone is aware of the benefits of drinking plenty of water but seriously girls this is the thing you can swear by throughout the year. It definitely keeps your scalp & hair healthy inside and outside.
2. PROTECT YOUR HAIR FROM CHILLY WINDS
Since, the winds can swipe away the moisture from your hair & scalp so its always good to wear a light satin scarf to avoid friction with your hair. Also, try to avoid wearing woolen or tight caps because it may lead you to sweat which may further lead you to itchiness or dandruff on your scalp.
3. DON’T OVER-STYLE YOUR HAIR
Girls, stay away from hair dryers, curling rods, straighteners or any other hair styling tools because the heat that comes out of it can dry out your hair & scalp. If you really want to use them, use it occassionally. NOTE: DON’T USE THEM ON VERY HIGH TEMPERATURE.
4. USE LUKEWARM WATER TO WASH YOUR HAIR
Avoid having hot-shower hair bathes. It can certainly cause damage to your scalp skin by swiping away the natural oils from your scalp leaving it dry and flaky. Also, don’t forget to use conditioner afterwards. It helps to lock the moisture in your hair.
5. DRY YOUR HAIR BEFORE STEPPING OUT
If you leave your home in wet hair in winter you’ll end up with frizzy hair which can cause breakage. So try to dry your hair naturally before stepping out but if it is not possible blow dry your hair on a very low temperature setting.
6. REGULAR TRIMS
You can get your hair trimmed on a regular basis to reduce the chances of split ends because winter winds leave your hair ends dry and brittle.
7. SHAMPOO LESS
Frequent shampooing can take off the layer of natural oil from your hair , leaving it dry and lifeless.
8. OIL MASSAGE
This is definitely a savior. Oil your hair atleast once a week before shampooing to make your hair more lustrous and healthy. Coconut oil is a good pick to go for.
